Scientists are moving up in the world of cancer

Scientists have possibly created the technology that will help them watch how cancer spreads throughout the human body. If this chip works as it is planned to, cancer could be stopped in it's tracks before any damage is done to a person's body. I'm very passionate about cancer treatments because a few of my family members and friends have been affected by cancer. I hope that this chip does what the scientists are designing it for. This chip is supposedly going to be able to find the birthplace of the cancer cells and show the process that spreads the cancer from its birthplace to the rest of the body.

Saying that this chip works as planned, it will be able to precisely show how tumor cells travel. When tumor cells travel, they metastasize (grow larger). This is what causes about 90% of cancer deaths. So as you can see, if this new technology is developed and perfected soon, we can use it to save the lives of the cancer patients. 

I'm so excited to see the results from this chip. No, it may not be fully developed for a while, but once it is, I hope to see news headlines stating "Microchips have led to thousands of cancer free lives". Tumor-in-a-dish?

Breast cancer treatment are extremely toxic and their effectiveness is unpredictable. There is three different types of breast cancer and more than 100 different anticancer drugs that are available. Only 10 to 15 of these drugs are actually used though. I would like to know why aren't all of these drugs being used? Every cancer is different in every person and their lives may be held in one of these 85-90 drugs that aren't used for the treatment of breast cancer.
Researchers are now taking small samples of the woman's cancer and placing it in accordingly in petri dishes. After they are placed in the dishes, they sample each drug to see which one works best. If this procedure is successful and works the way that scientists and doctors plan, it may be available clinically within the next five to ten years.
This treatment may be the answer to breast cancer. My godmother was diagnosed with breast cancer years ago. She beat it after a grueling fight. I was only 7 or 8 when she had it so everyone spared me the details. She is a strong woman and is very involved with breast cancer awareness and many other things such as Susan G. Komen runs and fundraisers. I couldn't imagine if her doctors were unable to treat her. I know many families go through this. I hope that this is the experiment that works to help kill cancer and isn't toxic to people!
